LA\u2019s passing game in 2021 went through Kupp, and Seattle\u2019s this year goes through JSN.<\/p>\n

Seattle\u2019s top-shelf defense could also make this a low-scoring Super Bowl, ala the 2018 Super Bowl when Edelman won the award.<\/p>\n

Smith-Njigba offers gamblers much more bang for their buck than betting on Darnold to win the game\u2019s MVP, especially since Darnold would likely need to have a big game using the team\u2019s ancillary options to earn the award over JSN.<\/p>\n

Only one non-quarterback or wideout has won a Super Bowl MVP in the last 10 years, two have done so in the past 20 years, and four have done so in the last 25 years.<\/p>\n

All of those non-quarterbacks or wideouts were defenders.<\/p>\n

A running back hasn\u2019t won the Super Bowl MVP since Terrell Davis<\/strong> did in 1997.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t waste money betting on a running back.<\/p>\n

Circling back to defenders, Von<\/strong> Miller<\/strong>, Malcolm<\/strong> Smith<\/strong>, Dexter<\/strong> Jackson<\/strong>, and Ray<\/strong> Lewis<\/strong> are the defenders who\u2019ve won Super Bowl MVPs since 2000.<\/p>\n

Miller\u2019s Broncos beat the Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50, Smith\u2019s Seahawks stomped the Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII, Jackson\u2019s Buccaneers squashed the Raiders 48-21, and Lewis\u2019s Ravens crushed the Giants 34-7.<\/p>\n
