But almost every person involved with that game is gone, save for offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels of the Patriots, and he wasn't the one who called a pass play from the 1-yard line when he could have run Marshawn Lynch a few more times.

That's on Seattle to correct with Mike Macdonald and Sam Darnold as they try to deny the first ring as a head coach for Mike Vrabel and to stop Drake Maye from becoming the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl. That's something the 2005 Seahawks failed to do against Ben Roethlisberger 20 years ago with the Steelers.

Let's preview some of the Super Bowl matchups, and don't forget that Bet365 is a great spot for making fun Super Bowl bets like the coin toss or specials using the names of songs of halftime performer Bad Bunny.

Moneyline

SEA -240
NE +195

Spread

SEA -4.5
NE +4.5

Total

O 45.5
U 45.5

When the Seahawks Have the Ball

It really comes down to making sure Sam Darnold is comfortable, something the Seahawks have done well to end the regular season, as he's played turnover-free football over the last three games. However, he was facing the 49ers for the second and third times in those first two games, and that's a defense missing its two best players (Nick Bosa and Fred Warner). Then he got a third look at the Rams in the NFC Championship Game, and that's a team he just faced for the second time in Week 16. So, it has been a ton of rematches for Darnold in the division, which can help you protect the ball better after he had the most giveaways of any quarterback in the regular season.

This is going to come down to which defense creates more impactful splash plays with sacks and turnovers. Darnold is facing an unfamiliar defense that should bear little resemblance to the New England defenses of Bill Belichick that had him seeing ghosts in 2019. He's come a long way, but the single biggest argument against Seattle winning this game has been the expectation that he'll choke on the big stage. That's reasonable, too, given his career path. You never know how a player will perform on the ultimate stage.

The Patriots also have a viable run defense with Milton Williams up front, so this might not be a big game for Kenneth Walker on the ground. The Seahawks also love getting the ball to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the Offensive Player of the Year. But the Patriots have a top corner in Christian Gonzalez, who can step up to that matchup. That's why it'll be important for a former Super Bowl MVP like Cooper Kupp to play great for Darnold and calm him down early, as his nerves will likely be going crazy.

The Seahawks have enough players to win this game, and they're easily the healthiest offense the Patriots have seen in many weeks. But they have to finish the job and not give up turnovers and short fields to feed an offense that's been struggling in the playoffs.

When the Patriots Have the Ball

For the Patriots, it's similar to Seattle. Help your young quarterback settle in with runs and some quick, short passes. The Patriots have to face an elite run defense, and the backs haven't been great recently. Drake Maye's legs have been their best runs in the playoffs, and his legs have also been better than his arm. They'll have to eventually test his shoulder injury to see if he can throw deep or not. The Seahawks gave up a lot of pass plays downfield to the Rams last week, so in clear weather, this could be a big game for the Patriots to air it out again.

But you can't air it out without pass protection. The Patriots have allowed 15 sacks this postseason (5.0 sacks in every game), approaching record territory (2021 Bengals – 19 sacks). We'll see if they can keep up against a pass rush that doesn't have the same level of elite rushers as the Texans and Broncos did, but Mike Macdonald does a great job of scheming up pressure with minimal blitzing.

Maye is going to have to scramble a lot and use his legs to make off-script plays, something the Seahawks didn't really have to plan for against Matthew Stafford and the Rams. But if the Patriots can win the turnover battle as they did in Denver, then they can beat this Seattle team. Maye just can't keep fumbling the ball on those sacks, as he's already put it on the ground six times in the playoffs.

‘Neverita' (Ice Cold) – No Points in 1st Quarter

At Bet365, there's a whole section of “Pop Culture Specials” for Super Bowl 60, featuring game props named after Bad Bunny songs. An interesting one is offering +550 odds that there will be no points scored in the first quarter of the Super Bowl. Given how these defenses could dictate the game and the inexperience of two young quarterbacks on the big stage, that might be worth looking into. But they also have many other interesting bets at Bet365 for Super Bowl 60.

Get THE BET365 Super Bowl Bonus Code

21+ only.
