rookie-year struggles.<\/p>\n<p>He ended his first season 31st in rating (80.2), completing 59.8% of his passes (31st) for 5.9 yards per pass attempt (33rd), 9.8 yards per completion (32nd), and a 2.8% touchdown rate (33rd).<\/p>\n<p>He was sacked 55 times, tied for the most in the league.<\/p>\n<p>13.7% of Ward\u2019s throws were inaccurate, which ranked 29th.<\/p>\n<p>Ward made a handful of big-time throws that showcased what led to him being the No. 1 pick last year.<\/p>\n<p>Now he needs to find his footing with the changes made within the organization.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans are committed to Ward and will be looking for a second-year spike like the Bears had in year two with <strong>Caleb<\/strong> <strong>Williams<\/strong>, who had a rookie season filled with highs that showcased his ability paired with inconsistent accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>Like Williams, Ward played through a first-year head coaching change.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans have brought in <strong>Brian<\/strong> <strong>Daboll<\/strong> as offensive coordinator under new coach <strong>Robert<\/strong> <strong>Saleh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Daboll was attached to the early career breakout of <strong>Josh<\/strong> <strong>Allen<\/strong> and a resurgent season for <strong>Daniel<\/strong> <strong>Jones<\/strong> that landed him his first contract extension.<\/p>\n<p>Behind Ward, Tennessee added <strong>Mitchell<\/strong> <strong>Trubisky<\/strong>, who was with Buffalo the past two seasons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will<\/strong> <strong>Levis<\/strong> remains on the roster despite regularly coming up in trade rumors the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>Levis missed all of 2025 with a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n<h3>Running Back<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Tony Pollard<\/li>\n<li>Tyjae Spears<\/li>\n<li>Kalel Mullings<\/li>\n<li>Julius Chestnut<\/li>\n<li>Blake Watson<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Tony Pollard<\/strong> turned 275 touches into 1,288 yards and 5 touchdowns in his second season with the Titans.<\/p>\n<p>This was Pollard\u2019s fifth year in a row topping 1,000 total yards and fourth in a row accumulating at least 1,200 yards.<\/p>\n<p>He closed the season on a high note.<\/p>\n<p>Over the final five weeks of the year, Pollard had three 100-yard rushing games.<\/p>\n<p>There were whispers that Pollard would be a potential cap casualty, but he remains on the roster.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, Pollard is an unrestricted free agent after the season.<\/p>\n<p>So is <strong>Tyjae Spears<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Spears has been snakebit by injuries the past two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>After missing five games in 2024, he missed another four games last season.<\/p>\n<p>After 152 touches for 5.5 yards per touch as a rookie in 2023, Spears has rushed for 3.7 and 3.9 yards per rushing attempt the past two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>I would not label this a \u201cneed,\u201d but the contractual depth here is a reason why Tennessee was a potential landing spot for <strong>Jeremiyah Love<\/strong> at the front of the draft.<\/p>\n<p>Even if they are not that aggressive in April, it would not be surprising to see Tennessee add a back on a new rookie deal.<\/p>\n<h3>Wide Receiver<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Wan\u2019Dale Robinson<\/li>\n<li>Calvin Ridley<\/li>\n<li>Chimere Dike<\/li>\n<li>Elic Ayomanor<\/li>\n<li>Bryce Oliver<\/li>\n<li>Mason Kinsey<\/li>\n<li>Hal Presley<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Part of Ward\u2019s first-year struggles had to do with a limited arsenal of pass catchers and being forced to rely on inexperienced options.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee wide receivers combined for 9.2 receptions (26th) for 107.2 yards per game (27th) with 9 touchdowns (28th).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calvin Ridley <\/strong>only played in seven games last year, catching 17 of 36 targets for 303 yards and no touchdowns while on the field.<\/p>\n<p>Ridley suffered a season-ending broken fibula in Week 11.<\/p>\n<p>Turning 32 this December, Ridley restructured his deal to remain with Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>After signing a four-year deal worth up to $92 million in 2024, Ridley will carry a $15.2 million cap number this season but allow the Titans to potentially save up to $22.3 million in cap space in 2027 should the team move on from him after the season.<\/p>\n<p>Ridley played his final season at Alabama under Daboll.<\/p>\n<p>With Ridley missing so much time, the highest route runners on the season were a pair of fourth-round rookies in <strong>Elic Ayomanor<\/strong> and <strong>Chimere Dike<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ayomanor led the team in targets (89) and led the wide receivers in receiving yards (515).<\/p>\n<p>Forced to live on a diet of vertical shots out wide, Ayomanor only collected 46.1% of those targets.<\/p>\n<p>He averaged a team-high 12.7 air yards per target, with 21.3% of his targets deemed off-target throws.<\/p>\n<p>Dike caught 48 of 74 targets for 423 yards and 2 touchdowns as a rookie.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Dike\u2019s receiving output was mild, he was a major contributor on special teams.<\/p>\n<p>He led the NFL in all-purpose yardage (2,427 yards).<\/p>\n<p>On punt returns, Dike averaged a league-high 17.3 yards per return with 2 touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>He averaged 25.6 yards per kickoff return.<\/p>\n<p>As a receiver, Dike played 67.2% of his snaps from the slot, so the addition of <strong>Wan\u2019Dale Robinson<\/strong> could have the most impact on his involvement in the passing game in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson signed a four-year deal this offseason worth up to $70 million.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson has caught more passes per game than the year prior every season in the league.<\/p>\n<p>He is coming off his best season, catching 92 of 140 targets for 1,014 yards and 4 touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>He has only scored 10 touchdowns through 10 seasons in the league, and 2025 was his first year clearing 699 receiving yards in a season.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson, of course, played that rookie deal attached to Daboll.<\/p>\n<p>While the Titans paid a high cost for Robinson\u2019s best season, he did finally get some downfield and versatile usage for the first time in his career, something that could be stickier playing with Ward.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson averaged a career-high 8.5 air yards per target last year.<\/p>\n<p>15% of his targets were on throws 20 or more yards downfield after rates of 6.5%, 7.7%, and 2.9% to start his career.<\/p>\n<p>He played 55.7% of his snaps in the slot after rates of 70.2%, 72.6%, and 77.9% to open his career.<\/p>\n<p>The injury to <strong>Malik Nabers<\/strong> played a role in that usage, while Ridley and Ayomanor are not players who have moved around inside.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson\u2019s deployment has some fragility, but he should be the favorite to lead the 2026 team in routes and targets.<\/p>\n<p>One thing Robinson will surely draw is third-down targets.<\/p>\n<p>After a league-high 38.9% target share on third downs in 2024, Robinson had 31.1% of the team targets on third downs in 2025 (8th in the league).<\/p>\n<p>This was a major problem area for this passing game in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Ward was 31st in the league in the rate of third-down throws to result in a first down (28.3%).<\/p>\n<p>Even with the addition of Robinson and retaining Ridley for 2026, the Titans should be pressing to get Ward as many playmakers as possible on offense.<\/p>\n<p>I would expect the Titans to consider <strong>Carnell Tate<\/strong> with their first pick.<\/p>\n<p>Even if they do pass on a wide receiver that early, we should anticipate another rookie to push Ayomanor on the outside for a potential full-time role in 2027.<\/p>\n<h3>Tight End<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Gunnar Helm<\/li>\n<li>Daniel Bellinger<\/li>\n<li>Kylen Granson<\/li>\n<li>David Martin-Robinson<\/li>\n<li>Joel Wilson<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Titans have an opportunity available for a tight end this season after losing <strong>Chigoziem Okonkwo<\/strong> in free agency.<\/p>\n<p>Okonkwo was second on the team in targets (79) and led the team with 560 yards receiving.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gunnar Helm<\/strong> is expected to take on a larger role in his second season after a solid performance on his snaps as a rookie.<\/p>\n<p>Helm caught 44 of 55 targets for 357 yards and 2 touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>He only ran a route on 38% of the dropbacks, but Helm was targeted on 22.4% of his routes, which only trailed <strong>Harold<\/strong> <strong>Fannin<\/strong> (24.7%) and <strong>Tyler<\/strong> <strong>Warren<\/strong> (22.4%) among rookie tight ends.<\/p>\n<p>Helm\u2019s 1.45 yards per route ranked fifth among rookie tight ends.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate Helm\u2019s development while having a comparable to fill Okonkwo\u2019s role as a move tight end, the Titans added <strong>Daniel Bellinger<\/strong>, who also spent his rookie contract with Daboll in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Bellinger caught 88 passes over his four seasons with the Giants.<\/p>\n<h3>Offensive Line<\/h3>\n<p><strong>LT: <\/strong>Dan Moore, Austin Deculus<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>LG: <\/strong>Peter Skoronski, Garrett Dellinger, Clay Webb<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>C: <\/strong>Austin Schlottmann, Drew Moss, Trey Hill<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>RG: <\/strong>Cordell Volson, Jackson Slater<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>RT: closed the season ranking 16th in ESPN\u2019s pass block win rate (64%) and 26th in run block win rate (70%).<\/p>\n<p>That followed suit at Pro Football Focus, where they were 13th in pass blocking grade and 23rd in run blocking grade.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans have two new starters at center and right guard, with both spots potentially having competitions this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Losing <strong>Kevin<\/strong> <strong>Zeitler<\/strong> and <strong>Lloyd<\/strong> <strong>Cushenberry<\/strong>, the Titans brought in <strong>Austin Schlottmann<\/strong> at center and <strong>Cordell Volson<\/strong> at guard.<\/p>\n<p>Schlottmann is another player coming over from New York &#8212; he was with Daboll the past two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>He has made only 18 starts through 7 seasons.<\/p>\n<p>On his sample last season (363 snaps), Schlottmann allowed a 1.4% pressure in 2025, third lowest among centers with 200-plus blocking snaps.<\/p>\n<p>Zeitler was 12th in overall grade among guards per Pro Football Focus in 2025, so he is a tougher replacement.<\/p>\n<p>Volson made 48 starts over his first three seasons with the Bengals.<\/p>\n<p>He missed all of 2025 with a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n<p>In his last season in 2024, Volson was 52nd in overall grade among guards per Pro Football Focus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dan Moore, Peter Skoronski<\/strong>, and <strong>JC Latham<\/strong> are all back as starters.<\/p>\n<p>Moore is in the second season of a big contract, and his struggles from Pittsburgh were present in his first season with the Titans.<\/p>\n<p>Moore allowed a 7.7% pressure rate in 2025, which ranked 75th among tackles.<\/p>\n<p>Moore allowed 8 sacks with 7 penalties.<\/p>\n<p>The addition of Moore last year allowed Latham to move to right tackle.<\/p>\n<p>Latham made strides in his second season as a run blocker, but he has had his hands full as a pass protector through two seasons on both sides of the line.<\/p>\n<p>After allowing 7 sacks with a 7.1% pressure rate and 10 penalties at left tackle as a rookie, Latham allowed 8 sacks with a 6.6% pressure rate and 14 penalties over 13 games at right tackle in his second season.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee will have a decision to make on picking up the fifth-year option for Skoronski, which will sit at $19.1 million.<\/p>\n<p>Skoronski has had growth each year in the league, with 2025 being his best season.<\/p>\n<p>He ended last year ranking fifth among guards in overall grade per Pro Football Focus.<\/p>\n<p>His 3.3% pressure rate allowed ranked 13th among Titans spent big in free agency to add <strong>John Franklin-Myers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin-Myers could end up playing more on the outside with the Titans than he did in Denver, but he should bring pass rush wherever he lines up.<\/p>\n<p>He logged 14.5 sacks during his two seasons with the Broncos, and he consistently created pressure while playing for <strong>Robert<\/strong> <strong>Saleh<\/strong> in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin-Myers will join <strong>Jeffery<\/strong> <strong>Simmons<\/strong>, who remains one of the best defensive linemen in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Simmons was 16th among all qualified pass rushers in pressure rate last season, and he was seventh among defensive linemen in run stuffs.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee also added <strong>Jordan<\/strong> <strong>Elliott<\/strong> and <strong>Solomon<\/strong> <strong>Thomas<\/strong> to the roster to help fill out the depth chart.<\/p>\n<p>Both have played for Saleh in the past.<\/p>\n<p>With an elite duo up top and depth that knows the system, the Titans are set along the defensive line.<\/p>\n<h3>Edge Defenders<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Jermaine Johnson<\/li>\n<li>Femi Oladejo<\/li>\n<li>Jacob Martin<\/li>\n<li>Jaylen Harrell<\/li>\n<li>Malik Herring<\/li>\n<li>Ali Gaye<\/li>\n<li>Truman Jones<\/li>\n<li>David Ebuka Agoha<\/li>\n<li>Nate Lynn<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Titans ranked 18th in pressure rate last season and finished 12th with 42 sacks.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee\u2019s trend of bringing in familiar players continued when they traded for <strong>Jermaine<\/strong> <strong>Johnson<\/strong>, who was drafted by Saleh\u2019s New York Jets.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson missed most of the 2024 season due to a torn Achilles, and he struggled to produce in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>He ranked 76th among qualified pass rushers in pressure rate last year, recording just 3 sacks.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson had a much better season in 2023 under Saleh, but he really has just one year of quality production.<\/p>\n<p>A second-round pick last year, <strong>Femi Oladejo<\/strong> missed most of his rookie season with a broken leg.<\/p>\n<p>He struggled to produce before the injury and remains an unknown heading into year two.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans did add <strong>Jacob<\/strong> <strong>Martin<\/strong> in free agency, who has had productive seasons including 5.5 sacks for the Commanders last year, but he is a journeyman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jaylen Harrell<\/strong> took a step forward in his second season, but he is probably more of a depth option.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin-Myers could be asked to shift outside and help out the pass rush, but the Titans would be better served by adding some talent to this position.<\/p>\n<h3>Linebacker<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Cedric Gray<\/li>\n<li>Coby Barton<\/li>\n<li>James Williams<\/li>\n<li>Mohamoud Diabate<\/li>\n<li>Cam Riley<\/li>\n<li>Dorian Mausi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Both of Tennessee\u2019s primary linebackers from last season are back for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A 2024 fourth-round pick, <strong>Cedric<\/strong> <strong>Gray<\/strong> made the leap in his second season.<\/p>\n<p>Gray ranked fourth among all qualified linebackers in run stuff rate, tackling the runner at or behind the line of scrimmage on 4.8% of his run defense snaps.<\/p>\n<p>He was not as strong in coverage, but it was a good showing for a player getting his first extended run of NFL action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cody<\/strong> <strong>Barton<\/strong> did not have as much success in his first season with the Titans, taking a step back across the board against the run.<\/p>\n<p>He did play well in coverage, finishing 13th among qualified linebackers in yards allowed per coverage snap, but the Titans will hope for better under the new coaching staff.<\/p>\n<p>2024 seventh-round pick <strong>James<\/strong> <strong>Williams<\/strong> is still on the roster behind that top two, and they added <strong>Mohamoud Diabate<\/strong> as depth in free agency.<\/p>\n<p>This is not an elite unit, but the Titans have bigger issues on the depth chart than at linebacker.<\/p>\n<h3>Cornerback<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Alontae Taylor<\/li>\n<li>Cor\u2019Dale Flott<\/li>\n<li>Marcus Harris<\/li>\n<li>Joshua Williams<\/li>\n<li>Micah Robinson<\/li>\n<li>Erick Hallett<\/li>\n<li>Keydrain Calligan<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Titans finished dead last in yards per attempt allowed (8.2) last season, 27th in touchdown rate allowed (5.8%), and 29th in explosive play rate allowed (10.4%).<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, Tennessee made addressing the secondary a key part of their offseason plan, signing <strong>Alontae<\/strong> <strong>Taylor<\/strong>, <strong>Cor\u2019Dale<\/strong> <strong>Flott<\/strong>, and <strong>Joshua<\/strong> <strong>Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor and Flott were the big-money additions and should be locked in as the top two corners.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor should be a better No. 1 option than what the Titans had last season, but he did not light the world on fire during his rookie contract with the Saints.<\/p>\n<p>He was 83rd among qualified corners in yards allowed per coverage snap last year.<\/p>\n<p>Flott was a better 49th among that same group, and he knocked away 11 passes in 14 games.<\/p>\n<p>Again, he should be a better No. 2 option, but it is fair to question if Taylor and Flott will be worth the money the Titans paid to get them.<\/p>\n<p>That said, Saleh has a proven track record with corners and should be able to raise the level of everyone in this group.<\/p>\n<p>That third corner spot remains up for grabs, but 2025 sixth-round pick <strong>Marcus Harris<\/strong> might have the inside track for the nickel spot.<\/p>\n<p>Added in free agency, Williams was a bigger factor on special teams last season with the Chiefs, but he allowed just 6.1 yards per target during his four seasons in Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>He could push for a job if given a real chance.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans have already made their moves here, so they likely will not see it as a pressing need heading into the draft.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it is fair to wonder if the improvement of this unit matches the money spent this offseason.<\/p>\n<h3>Safety<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Amani Hooker<\/li>\n<li>Kevin Winston Jr.<\/li>\n<li>Tony Adams<\/li>\n<li>Kendell Brooks<\/li>\n<li>Sanoussi Kane<\/li>\n<li>Jerrick Reed<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Amani Hooker<\/strong> returns at safety for his eighth season in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>He struggled in 2025, allowing 11.4 yards per target and a 144 quarterback rating in his coverage, but he has played better football in the past.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans will hope the new coaching staff can get more out of him.<\/p>\n<p>They will also hope for more from 2025 third-round pick <strong>Kevin<\/strong> <strong>Winston<\/strong>, who suffered a preseason injury that limited the start of his NFL career and then was lost for the season in December.<\/p>\n<p>Winston also struggled in coverage, but he was productive in the running game.<\/p>\n<p>The rookie logged a run stuff on 5.0% of his run defense snaps and recorded a tackle on 14.9% of those snaps.<\/p>\n<p>Another former Jet joined the team in free agency, with <strong>Tony<\/strong> <strong>Adams<\/strong> added to the safety room.<\/p>\n<p>Adams was a solid enough starter with Saleh in New York, so he could also push for a starting job.<\/p>\n<p>This is not an elite unit, but the Titans are probably set at
