The 2024 NFL Combine is in the books, and Eric Froton of NBC Sports was there for all of the action.<\/p>\n
He joined the Sharp Angles Podcast to discuss the biggest storylines of the weekend including the record-setting run by Texas WR Xavier<\/strong> Worthy<\/strong>, who Eric does not see as a pure deep threat based on his usage last season.<\/p>\n He's a deep threat. That's what he's doing he's running downfield, but you saw kind of a usage change over the past two years.<\/em><\/p>\n In 2022, 39% of his targets were 20 plus yards downfield. <\/em><\/p>\n Last year, [Texas coach] Steve Sarkisian<\/strong> dialed that back and started using him differently.<\/em><\/p>\n Worthy had a 17 .7% deep target rate, that is less than half of the deep targets he received the previous season. <\/em><\/p>\n So you saw him get more hitches, more of the quick outs, more of the manufactured touches to take advantage of that explosive speed, and I think he added that other element to his tape<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Eric also discussed the J.J.
